The Government approves an ethical code on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
With the aim of promoting a correct use and being able to disseminate basic resources necessary to interact with the new tools that use Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Government has approved an ethical code on the use of AI. The document, aimed at the public and private sector and the general public, is intended to serve as a guide, through the provision of some guidelines and recommendations, to support the proper deployment of AI in a reliable manner in Andorra. The document is aligned with the recommendations of various international organizations (UN, UNESCO or the Council of Europe, among others) that have already put on the table working documents similar to the one that has now been approved in the country.
The aim of the code is to maximize the potential associated with this emerging technology, in favor of socioeconomic development, and, at the same time, to ensure and guarantee the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people affected by placing them at the center of development. Thus, it is foreseen that both the document and the associated recommendations can be disseminated among the different target audiences so that they can incorporate the recommendations they deem appropriate. Adherence to the code will be required by the public sector for certain processes, and voluntary for the rest of the actors involved.
